Morgane Echardour and Juan Diego Zuluaga continued their winning ways at the recent Montreal Roller Marathon. The duo, who were top skaters at the Canadian Championships in early July in Toronto, won the women’s and men’s 42km distances at the Montreal Roller Marathon in Blainville, Quebec. Echardour distanced herself from her competition early in the race to take the women’s race. Zuluaga, on the other hand, had to wait until a six-skater final sprint to claim the victory.

Morgane Echardour et Juan Diego Zuluaga ont continué leur marche de victoires lors du Marathon Roller Montreal le 13 juillet. Le duo, qui étaient les meilleurs patineurs au Championnat Canadien en début Juillet à Toronto, a remporté le 42km des femmes et des hommes au Marathon Roller Montreal à Blainville, Québec. Echardour s’est distancée de sa compétition en début de course pour prendre la victoir ches les femmes. Zuluaga a dû réclamer la victoire dans un sprint final avec six patineurs!

Here is an update to the results for the 2013 Canadian Championships.

We would like to note that Erika Sanchez is now confirmed as the Overall 2nd place finisher for the Junior Women. She was initially placed in third overall. After a review of the result, it was noted that some of her points she earned had not been correctly awarded.

Voici une mise-à-jour aux résultats des championnats Canadiens extérieurs 2013.

Nous voudrions noter qu’Erika Sanchez est maintenant confirmée comme étant en deuxième position chez les femmes junior. Après une révision des résultats, nous avons constaté qu’il lui manquait des points.

Montreal’s Manon Langlais is now the RSC Speed Athlete’s Representative with the Speed Committee. Langlais, who competed at this past weekend’s Canadian Outdoor Championships in Toronto,  intends to represent speed athletes well and also aims to help foster grass-roots and local development of roller and inline speed skating.

Montreal’s Juan Diego Zuluaga set the Canadian record in the 300 meter individual time trial at this weekend’s Canadian Championships.

The young skater, who completed the 300 meter individual time trial early Saturday morning at the 2013 Canadian Championships in Toronto, clocked a time of 25.55 seconds. Not only does his time set the new bench mark for the Junior and Open categories, but this now places Zuluaga as the fastest skater ever in Canada by besting Barry Publow’s mark of 25.595 seconds set back in 1995.

Le jeune patineur Montréalais Juan Diego Zuluaga a établi le record canadien dans la coucrse contre la montre 300 mètres aux Championnats Canadiens en fin de semaine.

Il a terminé cette course samedi matin avec un temps de 25,55 secondes. Son temps est maintenant le meilleur temps pour les catégories Junior et Open. Son temps le place comme le patineur le plus rapide au Canada, devancant le temps de Barry Publow de 25,595 secondes, établi en 1995.

La belle réussite de Juan Diego Zuluaga a été célébrée au cours de la remise des prix.
