Due to policy changes within Roller Sports Canada and our insurer, effective March 15, 2018, a Sanction number is required to be included on all Travel Medical ApplicationsSanctions can be requested at this link.

When is a sanction required?

A sanction must be obtained for any event in which Roller Sport Canada members participate other than practice sessions.  These events include, but are not limited to, club and interclub contests/bouts/races, championships, parades, and exhibitions.  These events will be under the control of the appropriate local key RSC official who shall apply, enforce and interpret the official rules of the specific Technical Committees. The RSC officials will also have the responsibility and authority to make decisions governing the activities of the participants and spectators at said events.

En raison de changements de police au sein de Roller Sports Canada et de notre assureur, à compter du 15 mars 2018, un numéro de sanction doit être inclus dans toutes les demandes d’assurance médicale de voyage. Les sanctions peuvent être demandées à ce lien.

Quand faut-il un sanction?

Une sanction doit être obtenue pour tout événement auquel les membres de Roller Sport Canada participent, à l’exception des séances d’entraînement. Ces événements incluent, mais ne sont pas limités aux compétitions interclubs / clubs / courses interclubs, des championnats, des défilés (parades) et des expositions. Ces événements seront sous le contrôle du représentant local approprié de RSC qui devra appliquer, enforcer et interpréter les règles officielles des comités techniques spécifiques. Les officiels de RSC auront également la responsabilité et l’autorité de prendre des décisions régissant les activités des participants et des spectateurs lors de ces événements.

WADA Publishes 2018 Prohibited List

(Ottawa, Ontario – October 20, 2017) – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) would like to alert the Canadian sport community that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has published the 2018 Prohibited List. The List will come into effect on January 1, 2018.

The 2018 Prohibited List and the Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes are now available for download on WADA’s website in English and French.

WADA publishes new education tool: Parents’ Guide to Support Clean Sport, L’AMA publie un nouvel outil éducatif : le Guide du sport propre à l’usage des parents



The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to publish their latest education tool entitled Parents’ Guide to Support Clean Sport. Specifically designed for parents of athletes, this education resource is intended to inform them about essential topics so that they can assist with clean athlete development by preventing the use of substances and methods prohibited in sport.

World Roller Games Event Guide

The World Roller Games to be held in Nanjing, China are going to start soon – August 27th. The document below is an excellent guide to this major event in the roller skating world. The Roller Games FIRS World Championships is a multi-sport event organized by FIRS – Fédération Internationale Roller Sports – every two years and including all the disciplines under its Aegis.

During 15 days of competition, more than 4.000 athletes from 50 Countries will compete in 110 events: 10 FIRS sports will be involved and 7 venues will be dedicated to the WRG.


WHY Nanjing?

During the 2014 YOG, Roller Speed Skating and Skateboarding have been showcased in the SportsLab, and the popularity of the FIRS sports with the youth was so impressive that the Nanjing Bureau of Sport, together with the Mayor, decided to invest on a 5-year partnership with FIRS. Nanjing has been awarded the title of World Capital of Roller Sports and the Institutions are investing a lot on the success of the first edition of the World Roller Games 2017.


All FIRS sports will be involved: Artistic, Inline Alpine, Inline Downhill, Inline Freestyle, Inline Hockey, Rink Hockey, Roller Derby, Roller Freestyle, Skateboarding, Roller Speed Skating.

They have a unique positioning due to their unique characteristics: easy to learn, able to engage all type of fans, especially the younger ones, FIRS sports can represent a way of life strongly connected with music and fashion.
