The 2011 Canadian Outdoor Speed Championships are set to take place this weekend in Harriston, Ontario at the CITC’s 200-meter track.

The official practice is set for Friday July 1st from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The RSC Speed Committee Meeting will take place at 5:15 p.m. inside the CITC’s Pavilion. RSC affiliated Clubs are allowed to send on representative to the meeting. Those who may also attended the meeting include RSC’s President (Wayne Burrett), RSC’s Vice-President of Speed (Tyler Congdon), and RSC’s Athlete’s Representative (Sarah Hopkins).

FIRS and the CIC have confirmed that skaters Angie Perez (Colombia), Nicolas Bermudez (Colombia), and Paola Serrano have tested positive at the anti doping tests carried out in 2010 at the World Roller Speed Skating Championships.

Those athletes, who have been disqualified by the Colombian Federation, have lost their World Championship titles. The CIC will award medals according to new rankings that exclude the skaters who tested positive.
