RIP Mom Chaplin

This is a short message to say to those of you who knew Mom Chaplin, of the Chaplin Family in London, Ontario, who were involved in Roller Skating for many years in that city, has passed away.

Mrs. Chaplin passed away in London, Ontario, last Sunday morning. She was cremated and there will be a Memorial Service this Saturday

Westview Funeral Chapel
709 Wonderland Rd North
London Ontario
N6H 4L1

Visitation at 10am
Memorial service at 11am

The Chaplin family promoted Roller Skating from the early sixties out of the London arena- the London Skateland on Dundas Street east of Clarke Road and another roller rink located on First Street. Doug continues the family tradition by running the roller skating sessions and lessons at the North London Optimists Community Centre.

Sincere sympathy is extended to her son Doug Chaplin, relatives, and friends.

Report & Picutres- Ottawa Inline Invitational #2

The Ottawa Inline Invitational #2 was held yesterday in Gatineau. Cor Beattie shared pictures of the event as well as a report of the racing action.

Not to be undone, speedster Xavier Charon dragged his parents to Ottawa as well and let me assure you this little guy can skate!  Coming in 2nd in his semi final race (against adults) and 3rd in the finals was no laughing matter.  The improvements are obvious.  In another year, this kid is going to my main competition.  Uh oh.
