The Inline Skate for MS 2008 will be taking place in Thunder Bay on July 27th. Thunder Bay is just under 4 hours North East of Duluth- home to North America’s biggest inline skating marathon- the Northshore Inline Marathon. The course for this year’s Skate for MS uses a road that was paved in 2006- it is relatively straight and flat. [Registration] [Brochure PDF] [Contact for Information]

RSO Series #2
Roller Sports Ontario’s Indoor Series took place this past Sunday in Mississauga. This was the second of four events. Skaters competed in distances ranging from 300-meters to 1000-meters. The RSO Series is a co-ed ability based series; skaters complete a time trial and are placed in ability groups. Final series age category rankings will determine trophies and cash prizes for skaters. TISC AGM
The Toronto Inline Skating Club (TISC) will be holding its Annual General Meeting on the 16th of March. TISC’s long-time president, Gillian Clarke, will be stepping down as President of the club. The club’s membership will be voting on a new board of directors. [more]

Roller Derby TV Stars
You can view a CBC clip on Roller Derby from this January. The clip, which was aired on CBC News Sunday, includes fine commentary and competition footage. The clip features Gillian Clarke, who is currently the RSC Vice President of Roller Derby. [Roller Derby Revisited]

RSC Speed Nationals & RSO Speed Provincials Dates
The dates for the RSC Speed Nationals & RSO Speed Provincials are now confirmed.
Roller Sports Canada will hold its annual speed championship at the Canadian Inline Training Centre in Harriston, Ontario. The 200-meter banked track will play host to the Canadian Championships from June 27th to the 30th. The official practice will be on Friday and racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Monday will be held as a rain date.
The Canada Day Marathon will take place in Cambridge on July 1st.
Roller Sports Ontario will host its annual provincial speed championship May 30th to June 1st. The Ontario championship will take place at Christ The King 200-meter flat track, the training venue used by the Toronto Inline Skating Club. Friday will serve as the official practice day. Racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
More details on these events will be posted at a later date. Forms and information will be posted in the information bar on the left-hand side.
RSC Site Is Back Online
The Roller Sports Canada website mysteriously re-appeared on the internet earlier today.
