Canada’s Selection for the Pan Am Festival Places Well, De Bon Resultats Pour la Selection Canadienne au Festival Pan Am

Canada’s selection for roller speed and roller figure skating came through with god results at the Pan American Festival in Puebla, Mexico.

Marie Jacqueline Queenan finished in 4th place in the roller figure competition.

In the speed competitions, it was Valérie Maltais who placed 4th in the 15km elimination race. Christopher Fiola finished in 5th place in both the 300m time trial and 500m sprint.

La sélection canadienne pour le roller vitesse et le roller artistique a fait de bon résultats dans les compétitions au Festival Pan Américain à Puebla au Mexique.

Marie Jacqueline Queenan a fini 4ieme au patinage artistique.

En course, Valérie Maltais s’est classée 4ieme dans le 15km éliminations et Chris Fiola à fini en 5ieme position dans le 300m chrono contre-la-montre et 500m sprint.

Canada’s racers have been on the rise and punching through with top-5 placements at the Pan Am Festival in Puebla, Mexico. Christopher Fiola had a pair of 5th place finishes in the 300m time trial and 500m sprint. Valérie Maltais finished in 4th place in the women’s 15km elimination race.

Les courseurs canadiens se sont bien classés au Festival Pan Am à Puebla, au Mexique. Christopher Fiola a terminé 5ieme dans le 300m contre la montre et le sprint 500m. Valérie Maltais s’est classée en 4ieme position dans la course 15km élimination.

Canada’s Pan Am Festival Selection Readies for Racing, La Selection Canadienne Pour le Festival Pan Am se Prepare Pour la Competition

Canada’s selection for the Pan Am Festival, taking place in Puebla, Mexico, has been skating on the track and preparing for the first race on Wednesday the 16th. The first scheduled event is the 300m time trial. Canada’s selection includes Peter Doucet, Morgane Echardour, Christopher Fiola, and Valérie Maltais. Simon Clement is attending as team coach.

La selection canadienne du Festival Pan Am est à Puebla au Mexique. L’équipe s’entraine sur la piste de 200m et se prépare pour la première compétition. L’horaire de compétition verra le 300m contre-la-montre comme premier évènement ce mercredi. Le selection canadienne inclue Peter Doucet, Morgane Echardour, Christopher Fiola, and Valérie Maltais. Simon Clement est présent comme entraineur.

SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATER VALÉRIE MALTAIS WILL REPRESENT CANADA… IN INLINE SKATES

Montreal, July 10, 2014 – A few months prior to the beginning of a new Olympic cycle in Short Track Speed Skating, 2014 Olympic Games silver medalist in the Women Team Relay event, Valérie Maltais, will continue her preparation by representing Canada in Mexico but in inline skates.

The athlete from Saguenay (borough La Baie), QC, will take part in the inline speed skating events at the Pan American Sports Festival held in Puebla, Mexico, July 16-19.

One year prior to the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, which will start July 10, 2015, the Pan American Sports Festival is aiming to contribute to the preparation of the athletes toward the Pan American Games. Competitions in 20 individual sports will be held across Mexico July 11-September 30 with an estimated participation of 3,600 athletes and officials.

We are still in need for sport specific volunteers for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games. If you haven’t done so already, please head on over to http://www.TORONTO2015.org/volunteer to sign up for the games.To work with the Roller Speed Skating events, please enter the code SPTRS when prompted.

If you have already registered to volunteer but haven’t entered the code SPTRS, please return to your profile and enter the code.

Volunteers will start to be assigned to positions and roles shortly. To ensure you are able to volunteer with the roller speed skating events, you should sign-up using the code SPTRS by the end of July. These are Canada’s Games. Seize the opportunity!

Chris Fiola, Manon Langalis Tops at Canada Day Marathon, Chris Fiola et Manon Langlais Gagnent le Marathon de la Fete du Canada

Montreal’s Chris Fiola and Manon Langlais were the top male and female finishers at the Canada Day Marathon. The event, put on by the Toronto Inline Skating Club, was held on July 1st in Cambridge.

Les Montréalais Chris Fiola et Manon Langlais étaient les premiers finissants au Marathon de la Fête du Canada. L’évènement qui a eu lieu à Cambridge le 1ier juillet, est organizé par le Toronto Inline Skating Club.
