Canadian Duo Top North American Series, Duo Canadien Gagnent Serie Nord Americaine

Montreal’s Chris Fiola and Mississauga’s Morgane Echardour finished in top position in the NROC– North America’s top marathon series- for 2012.

Fiola’s secured his first ever NROC title by placing 3rd at the recent New York 100km race. The 100km race featured a show-down between Fiola, world medalist Justin Stelly and top North American marathon skater David Sarmiento. Fiola looked poised for victory with 15km to go in the race, but after getting caught in the closing lap, he had to sort out his finish and eventual NROC title in the sprint finish.

Morgane Echadour’s NROC title is her third title in the last 4 years. Echardour, who showed good speed at the Canadian Championships earlier this year in Quebec City and Laval, finished in the sprint finish at the recent Northshore Inline Marathon in Duluth, MN. Echardour wasn’t able to complete the 100km race, but secured enough NROC points earlier in the season in key races in Cambridge, Chicago, Montreal (two events) and Duluth, MN.

Chris Fiola de Montréal et Morgane Echardour de Mississauga ont terminé en première position pour 2012 dans la série de course NROC– la meilleure série de marathon de l’Amérique du nord.

Fiola a obtenu son premier titre NROC en terminant en 3ème position dans le 100km récent de New York. La course de 100km à mis en vedette un show entre Fiola, l’Américain Justin Stelly médaillé aux championnats du monde et le patineur David Sarmiento- un des plus forts au marathon. Chris Fiola a ramassé sa victoire NROC et son podium dans le 100km dans une arrivée de sprint final.

Morgane Echadour a ramassé son troisième titre NROC dans les 4 dernières années. Echardour, qui a montré  bonne forme aux championnat canadien plus tôt cette année à Québec et à Laval, a fini entre les meilleures dans le sprint final lors du récent Marathon Northshore à Duluth, MN. Echardour n’a pas pu terminer la course de 100 km, mais elle a obtenue suffisamment de points NROC plus tôt dans la saison grace aux courses à Cambridge, Chicago, Montréal (deux épreuves) et Duluth, au Minnesota.
