Donora, Pennsylvania – Look out here comes Canada!!!

For the first time in recent history, both the Calgary Artistic Skate Club and Scooters Roller Skating Club will be participating in the 24th Annual Valley Invitational Championship in Donora, PA. to be held March 19th to the 21st.

This meet is the largest Invitational Competition in the United States and brings out some of the most talented skaters from across the country.

Both clubs have a lot of great upcoming talent. With the determination and positive attitude our Canadian skaters have; we know we will be proud of their efforts and accomplishments.

On behalf of all the Ontario Parents:

Ontario wishes the best and good luck to all the Canadian skaters. You have already made us so proud to be your parents and coaches. Now show them what you got!!!! Eh!!!

Roller Derby and Roller Figure Skating skate together!

On February 27, 2010, the Winnipeg Convention Centre was host to the first Roller Derby event in Manitoba in 30 years.

During half time, Roller Sports Canada dance skaters Connie Davis and William Thompson from Winnipeg were asked to do a demonstration. They did so to the tune of over 2200 cheering people, finishing up with a waltz to Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi!

It was a very special evening indeed.

The University of Manitoba Students’ Newspaper took the attached picture and used it as their cover for their newspaper The Manitoban.
