How about a Canadian ranking with a point total of all of theses outdoor event-races? It would make it more interesting to participate to all of them. Sort of a Canadian-Inline-Cup thing…hey why not? But more important it would also help thoses young skaters looking for sponsors, having a national ranking helps for thoses kind of things.
My other thing, why not have, once a month, a specific date on the week-ends for the skaters to meet at the CITC? Maybe there won’t be many at first, but it’ll be known that at theses dates, you can go train with the best on the best track that we have.
I’d like to hear about you opinions about the ideas being possible or not.

Thank you for your input Jimmy C-
The Canadian roller speed skating community would definitely gain from a national race series.
Currently, Roller Sports Ontario’s Speed Series and the Quebec Cup are two provincial series that rank skaters. Both are track racing series.
A few years ago, a few people from Ottawa put together and ran the Canada Inline Cup. The CIC focused mainly on tracking attendance and performance in marathon races. The series was quite successful as it encouraged skaters to attend various races and events.
Roller Sports Canada needs volunteers and the skating community to ‘step-up’ and put a manageable and realistic plan that can be implemented, run, and where results can be tracked. The plans needs a focus (track vs road, categories- some events have different age groups, awards, what events to include, geography, grouping- ability and age, etc) and needs people to put it into action.
Re. training at the CITC. This is a good idea.
A plan like this would have to be planned with the CITC input and approval.
A few things that should be considered in a plan like this include travel and expense, what group of skaters it is serving (Southern Ontario), weather (but when is this ~not~ a concern in roller speed skating?), insurance, open practice vs controlled practice, finding a day that does not conflict with events on the race calendar (perhaps a week-day?).
A training day like this can potentially be an opportune time to begin to train, inform, and empower coaches, officials, and race/ meet organizers.
