Donora, Pennsylvania – Look out here comes Canada!!!
For the first time in recent history, both the Calgary Artistic Skate Club and Scooters Roller Skating Club will be participating in the 24th Annual Valley Invitational Championship in Donora, PA. to be held March 19th to the 21st.
This meet is the largest Invitational Competition in the United States and brings out some of the most talented skaters from across the country.
Both clubs have a lot of great upcoming talent. With the determination and positive attitude our Canadian skaters have; we know we will be proud of their efforts and accomplishments.
On behalf of all the Ontario Parents:
Ontario wishes the best and good luck to all the Canadian skaters. You have already made us so proud to be your parents and coaches. Now show them what you got!!!! Eh!!!
Roller Speed & Arts Included In Pan American Games Programme
The following note is from Michael Chambers- President, Canadian Olympic Committee;
I write to inform you that the President of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO), Mario Vázquez Raña, at the recent PASO General Assembly in Guadalajara MEX, announced that all of our Pan American only sports will be on the programme of the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, that is:
- Baseball
- Bowling
- Karate
- Racquetball
- Roller Sports
- Rugby (recently added to the 2016 Olympic programme)
- Softball (Women)
- Squash
- Water Skiing
Unfortunately, it appears unlikely that Men’s Softball will be placed on the Guadalajara programme.
For your information, it was also announced that the sport of Basque Pelota will be on the 2011 Pan American Games programme, however the sport of Basque Pelota does not have membership in the COC.
I would like to congratulate our Member Pan American NSFs on the confirmation of their inclusion in the sport programme of the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara.
Toronto Wins Bid To Host 2015 Pan Am Games
TORONTO — After years of disappointments, Toronto has finally won a major international sporting event, beating two South American cities to host the 2015 Pan Am Games.

Toronto’s 2015 Pan American Games Bid
There is a very strong bid from Toronto to host the 2015 Pan American Games. The bid’s website, Toronto 2015, includes information on the venues for roller speed skating and roller figure skating.
Results- Canadian Roller Figures Championships
Roller Sports Canada held the 2009 Canadian Roller Figures Championships this past weekend in Oshawa.
54th World Roller Figure Skating Chamionships- Freiburg
The 54th World Roller Figure Skating Chamionships are set to take place in Freiburg, Germany. The competition will begin on November 10th and close on the 21st.
Two First Place Medals For Breanna Pratt
Breanna Pratt recently competed in a Roller Figure Skating Competition in Waterford, Michigan, where she achieved two first place finishes! The first one was in Juvenile B Figures. The second was in the Juvenile B Freestyle. Sincere congratulations to Breanna for a job well done!
Report- Calgary Artistic Roller Skaters At Northwest Figure Skating Invitational (Auburn)
Last weekend, six members from the Calgary Artistic Roller Sports Club participated in the 2009 Northwest Figure Skating Invitational held annually in Auburn, Washington. The event was held at Auburn Skate Connection Rink from April 17-19th.
The skaters brought home a whopping number of medals this year. They won 15 medals in total for Figures, Loops, Dance and Freestyle (singles) events.
Coaches Kim Argento, Lloyd Williams & Tanya Roberts were proud of the skaters’ achievements.
The event was well organized, and all the skaters returned home very tired, but happy.
Congratulations skaters and to the coaches for a job well done!
