The third of four races in the Roller Sports Ontario Indoor Series took place today in Mississauga. Dean Arndt was the top overall finisher and Melissa Maas took top honours on the women’s side.

The Official Canada Suits can now be purchased from Il Peloton. The Official Canada Suit was one of two winning designs in the Design Canada! Contest. $20 from each suit sold will be donated to the 2008 Canadian World Team athletes. Canadian World Team athletes are responsible for the costs of representing Canada at the World Roller Speed Skating Championships. The costs can run upwards of $4000 per athlete. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) recently unveiled details of its application for groundbreaking English and French amateur sport television networks, which would be a first in Canada if approved. The proposed Canadian Amateur Sports Network (CASN) and le Réseau du sport amateur canadien (RSAC) would provide much-needed exposure and funding for both Olympic and non-Olympic sports. Tentative dates for the 2008 RSO Outdoor Speed Series have been announced. The dates- which will be confirmed at a later date- include May 10th (Ottawa/ Aylmer), June 14th or 15th (Harriston- CITC), July 19th or 20th (Toronto- CTK), and August 23rd or 24th (Harriston- CITC). [See the dates]

The Inline Skate for MS 2008 will be taking place in Thunder Bay on July 27th. Thunder Bay is just under 4 hours North East of Duluth- home to North America’s biggest inline skating marathon- the Northshore Inline Marathon. The course for this year’s Skate for MS uses a road that was paved in 2006- it is relatively straight and flat. [Registration] [Brochure PDF] [Contact for Information]
